As a professor of Communication and Native American Studies, Bruce E. has been teaching, researching, and writing at the University of Nebraska at Omaha since 1982, presently as Frederick W. Kayser research professor. He has published 47 books in several fields: history, anthropology, law, the Earth sciences, and many others. His most recent books comprise a three-volume set, Climate Change: An Encyclopedia of Science, Society, and Solutions (2017). Johansen’s writing has been published, debated, and reviewed in many academic venues, among them the William and Mary Quarterly, American Historical Review, Current History, and Nature, as well as in many popular newspapers and magazines, such as The New York Times and The National Geographic. Johansen writes frequently about environmental subjects, including The Encyclopedia of Global Warming Science and Technology (2 vols., 2009), Global Warming in the 21st century (3 vols., 2006), The Global Warming Desk Reference (2001), The Dirty Dozen: Toxic Chemicals and the Earth’s Future (2003), and Indigenous Peoples and Environmental Issues (2004), a 200,000-word encyclopedia of indigenous peoples’ struggles with corporations with a world-wide scope.

Dr. Kaufui Vincent Wong is a Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Miami (UM), Florida, where he has taught and researched since 1979. His primary research areas are in energy and the environment, fluid mechanics and nanotechnology. Dr. Wong has published over 200 refereed papers in journals and conferences. He authored 2 text-books on Thermodynamics, one on Intermediate Heat Transfer, and one on Climate Change. He holds two patents. He has received awards for teaching and mentoring students. He has served on the UM Graduate Council for 3 terms, and elected Faculty Senator for one. He is active in the American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and have held many leadership positions, including Chair of the Advanced Energy Systems Division, and Deputy Group Leader of the Energy Group. He is the 2015 ASME Dixy Lee Ray Award recipient for the environment. Dr. Wong is a popular invited Keynote Speaker in international conferences and symposiums.

His academic background includes a bachelor’s in Agricultural Engineering from Tribhuvan University in Nepal, a post graduate diploma in Environmental Education and Sustainable Development from Kathmandu University in Nepal, a master’s in Biosystems Engineering from Michigan State University and a doctorate in Biosystems Engineering and Environmental Engineering from Michigan State. After earning his doctorate in 2015, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in hydrology and water quality at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Delta Water Management Research Unit in Jonesboro, Arkansas for two and half years. Dr. Keith Leggett earned a PhD degree in Inorganic Chemistry (Marine Chemistry) from University of Sydney, Australia in 1989. His postdoctoral experience includes Research Fellowship at the University of Zimbabwe, in Harare. He has worked as the Chief Ecologist and Project Manager for Raleigh International in Southern Africa for 3 years in Namibia and Zimbabwe. Later on he took a job as the Conservation Officer of the Kalahari Conservation Society in Botswana. In the following years of his career, he joined as a Senior Scientist and Project Manager of the Hoanib River Catchment Study (HRCS). He returned to Australia to take up the position of Director, University of New South Wales Arid Zone Research Station, Fowlers Gap, a position he is still holding.

Additionally, she serves as an editorial board member and guest editor for renowned international journals such as Transactions in GIS, Water, Applied Science, Remote Sensing, and Frontiers in Applied Science and Technology. Her research focuses on geographic spatiotemporal data analysis, multisource data fusion, extreme climate events, and risk assessment. She has led numerous projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, international cooperation projects, and projects from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her research findings have been published in over 100 academic papers in journals such as Science Advance, Nature Communications, Remote Sensing of Environment, Environmental International, Science of the Total Environment, and Transactions in GIS. She has also authored one English monograph and holds eight granted patents. Her achievements have been applied in IPBES assessments, regional ecological environment element fusion simulations, and regional carbon storage calculations.

She graduated in Zoology/Botany from Avinashilingam Deemed University, Coimbatore in the year 1994. Later she joined Post Graduation in Environmental Sciences at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and obtained her degree in 2000. She did her M.Phil., in Environmental Sciences subsequently and joined Ph.D. where she undertook the task of using GIS and Remote Sensing tools for malaria mapping and was awarded her Ph.D. degree in 2006 for her thesis entitled GIS for Epidemic Malaria -Integration of Spatial Analysis and Modeling: A Case Study of Salem District, India. During her tenure of doctoral research, she worked in several DRDO sponsored research projects. Following the award of her Ph.D. degree, she joined DRDO-BU Center for Life Sciences as a Research fellow in Environmental Management Division as a task member to identify monitoring tools for malaria epidemic in North eastern regions of India using spatial techniques. She attended a series of short-term trainings and research workshops before being appointed as a Lecturer at Bharathidasan University in June 2008. She is now an Assistant Professor (SG) and presently heading the Spatial Modeling and Environmental Geosciences division.

Dr. Tang holds a Ph.D. in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Northeastern University, China, where he focused his thesis on soft sensor methods for grinding process mill load detection. He also earned his Master's degree from the same institution. Beyond academia, Dr. Tang is the Vice Director of the Beijing Laboratory of Smart Environmental Protection and an active member of several prominent professional organizations, including the Industrial Control Computer Professional Committee of the China Computer Federation and multiple committees under the Chinese Association of Automation. An IEEE member since 2017, he has also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Computing, Beijing Jiaotong University, enriching his expertise in environmental protection automation and the energy internet.
