Abstract
Energy constraint is one of the major research topics in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). The routing
consumes the largest amount of energy in WSN, so the routing protocol used for communication should be energy
efficient. This paper simulates using Network Simulator NS2. LEACH does not take into account residual energy.
This paper introduces new variants of LEACH, in which residual energy and number of hop are used as parameters
for CH selection. The propose work is to improve LEACH in which CH selection is based on node’s Energy and
number of hop from BS. The improvement and implement of proposed work in NS-2.27 would be part of our future
work.
