A STUDY ON HOLOGRAPHIC DATASTORAGE TECHNIQUES
The recent advances in holographic memories have made it possible to store thousands of holograms at a single location and retrieve the stored data with sufficient reliability to make holography a favorable paradigm for high capacity, high bandwidth storage in digital computers .Holographic memories can be read-out either with the reference or the signal beam. Reference beam read-out reconstructs the stored data whereas signal beam read-out performs a search of the stored data base. This dual mode of holographic memories is explored for the various methods that have been developed for multiplexing holograms.
