A Study on Organic Synthesis via Ketene

Abstract

Ketene is a colourless toxic gas with a sharp penet rating odour . It is most important member of the class being Ketene itself, which is used to make other important chemicals such as aspirin, acetate, acet ic anhydride and other indust rial organic compounds. It is soluble in essent ially all organic solvents. This knowledge will help to the people who are interested to work in manufacturing of indust rial organic compounds. Ketene chemist ry remains a very act ive area of research worldwide.
