“APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK IN ELECTRICAL BASED POWER INDUSTRY.”
The Electrical power industry presently passing through a much challenged unprecedented time of reforms. The most ever exciting, potentially sustainable and pay back profitable recent trends of developments is to use neural network based approach (artificial intelligence technique). This paper reviews the application of artificial neural network in the various segments of electrical based power industry. Firstly it unveils areas of Electrical power system where artificial intelligence has been applied too and then it summarizes the technique and tools which has been employed and make suggestion for the improvements of electrical power systems. Then the intention of this paper is to give an brief overview according to which the growth rate of artificial neural network applications in some very important electrical power system subjects like fault diagnosis , security assessment, load forecasting (on short term and long term basis), economic load dispatch , power system security, etc. The various advantages and disadvantages of using Artificial neural network based application in above mentioned subjects and the main challenges in this fields has also been the other prime motive of this paper too.
