Synthesis and Pharmacological Evaluation of Macrocycles for Antiviral Drug Discovery
Abstract
Macrocycles are a class of large, ring-shaped molecules that make a significant contribution to drug discovery due to their unique structural properties and diverse biological activities. These compounds, which typically consist of 12 or more atoms in the ring, provides distinct advantages over smaller molecules, including greater stability, higher binding affinity and the ability to interact with challenging biological targets, such as viral proteins.
