L.N. Gumilev wrote about hypotheses: One of the most detrimental errors for scientific thinking is preconceived opinions, which, once expressed as hypotheses, are later accepted as indisputable truths. The power of prescription paralyzes criticism, and misconceptions take root, distorting the picture.
