Computer security refers to techniques for ensuring that data stored in a computer cannot be read or compromised by any individuals without authorization. The computer security is to prevent theft of or damage to the hardware, to prevent theft of or damage to the information, to prevent disruption of service. The field includes all the processes and mechanisms by which digital equipment, information and services are protected from unintended or unauthorized access, change or destruction, and is of growing importance due to the increasing reliance of computer systems in most societies.
