Neoplasm is an abnormal growth of tissue, and when also forming a mass is commonly referred to as a tumor or tumor. This abnormal growth (neoplasia) usually but not always forms a mass. Neoplasia describes when these cells proliferate in an abnormal manner that is not coordinated with the surrounding tissue. As this excessive growth persists, a lump or tumor is usually formed.
